• In 1950, the first President of Indonesia - Sukarno called upon the peoples of Indonesia and India to "intensify the cordial relations" that had existed between the two countries "for more than 1000 years" before they had been "disrupted" by colonial powers. 1950년 인도네시아의 초대 대통령 수카르노는 인도네시아와 인도 양국 국민들에게, 식민지배 세력에 의하여 붕괴된 양국간의 1천년이 넘게 존재해온 우호 협력을 강화하자고 촉구하였다.
